Inter Miami star Lionel Messi couldn’t help but laugh when he was asked to copy a young Argentinian fan’s very unique goal celebration.
WHAT HAPPENED? After scoring an incredible number of goals during his phenomenal football career, Messi knows a thing or two about celebrating on the football pitch. However, the World Cup winner was left rather stunned when he was asked to imitate a young fan’s celebration. Messi asked “What’s your celebration?” and could only laugh and reply “You’re crazy” as his new friend showed off his moves.
THE BIG PICTURE While it seems unlikely that Messi will adopt the new routine, fans will have to wait and see how he chooses to celebrate his next goal. The Argentina legend has led celebrations for his young sons Thiago, Mateo and Ciro recently at Inter Miami, as well as drawing inspiration from Marvel after using routines from Thor, Black Panther and Spider-Man. However, one of his most iconic celebrations was also one of his simplest, when he raised his Barcelona No. 10 shirt in front of the Santiago Bernabeu crowd after scoring a last-minute goal in a 3-2 El Clasico win in 2017.
WHAT’S NEXT FOR MESSI? Inter Miami fans may not have to wait long to see Messi score again. The World Cup winner scored a hat-trick the last time he played for the MLS side and returns to action on Friday against Atlanta United.
