In a list released by Spotify, Taylor Swift was the most-streamed artist globally in 2024 on Spotify. With this result, Taylor took the top spot for the second year in a row. According to the assessment, this result is largely due to the strength of Taylor’s latest album – “The Tortured Poets Department”. This is also the most-streamed album of 2024 on Spotify. In total, Taylor Swift’s music has generated more than 26.6 billion streams on the platform this year.
After Swift, Spotify’s most-streamed artists of the year worldwide were the Weeknd, Bad Bunny, Drake and Billie Eilish…
Swift’s “Tortured Poets” broke several Spotify records, including being the first album to reach 300 million streams in a day and over 1 billion in its first week of release. The album’s widespread popularity led to a huge year for female artists.
Those who made it into the top eight of Spotify’s 10 most-streamed albums worldwide include: Billie Eilish’s “Hit Me Hard and Soft” (No. 2), Sabrina Carpenter’s “Short n’ Sweet” (No. 3), Karol G’s “Mañana Será Bonito” (No. 4), Ariana Grande’s “Eternal Sunshine” (No. 5), Swift’s “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” (No. 6), SZA’s “SOS” (No. 7) and Swift’s “Lover” (No. 8).
To celebrate Taylor Swift’s return as the most-streamed artist, Spotify is adding a perk for her fans. For the first time, Spotify is adding a Wrapped badge to Taylor Swift’s Spotify profile, marking the first year of what the company says will be an annual distinction. Additionally, Spotify is launching an Easter egg experience for Swifties: When listening to Taylor’s songs on Spotify, fans will see custom little animations that match the eras of her discography on the app’s play button (for example, there will be sparkles for “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” and seagulls for “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”).
In partnership with Snapchat, Swift fans around the world will find special 2024 Wrapped bracelets featuring the Global Top Artist Badge pendant through AR lenses in the Snapchat app. Additionally, Spotify will launch outdoor installations featuring Swift in cities including New York, Toronto, Jakarta, São Paolo, Manila, Mexico City, London, Berlin, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Miami.
