Being nasty, mostly.
Following pop star Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris for President – which is of course her right – billionaire and X owner Elon Musk, who is is a Donald Trump fan in the race for the White House – used his platform to react.
That’s also his right. But the discourse here, no matter your political leanings, is disturbing.
“Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life,” Musk posted in an inappropriate jab at Swift.
Is that the end of the story? It’s politics, entertainment, football and social media, all simmering together in a hot pot of gumbo, so … No.
Next wrinkle: A screenshot of Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Swift’s boyfriend, appearing to respond to Musk.
“I’m 6’5″ and actually play football,” the screenshot shows Kelce allegedly saying. “The fact I went to college and got a degree and worked hard might be lost on you. I don’t play backgammon but I do play chess. I could also twist you into a pretzel.”
Fun. But fake. Kelce did not post this, as it is actually a continuation of an unrelated running joke on social media – and yet in this political climate, actually quite easily understood as to why anyone would find it believable.
